The first thing that caught my eye was this product's name - Liwanag - followed by the inclusion of lavender, which is one of my favorite flowers and scents. This is the second Herbalaria body polish I've tried, and this is my favorite (so far). I resonated a lot with this polish's ritual applications given my current life chapter, so being able to use this as both a self-care tool and spiritual grounding method is so helpful. The scrub is gentle and not abrasive and smells oh-so-damn good! The lavender notes are strongest, followed by the peppermint, which makes for a calming and refreshing experience when used. I highly recommend this to fellow lavender lovers and those seeking a heightened focus on their intentions, especially when connecting to Spirit/Universe and shedding that which no longer serves.
Since I was young, I've dealt with dry skin as a result of eczema and Tinea versicolor (also known as "yafyaf"). Over the years, I've tried various products with varying results. I purchased this body polish in hopes it could help me manage my latest dance with dry, itchy skin, especially on my legs; I believe this was caused by another product, unfortunately (the maker changed their formula, and it no longer worked for my skin).
As soon as I mixed and applied the Calamansi Body Polish, I felt luxurious. I don't mean that lightly. The smell of calamansi is so potent and brought me back to my childhood when my grandmother would pick a few calamansi and add it to our soy sauce to use with lunch or dinner. The texture of the polish is not abrasive at all (something I worry about whenever I buy a polish or scrub) and felt gentle on my skin. Once I washed the polish off, the oils were not heavy or sticky, and best yet, did not irritate my skin. I'm so glad I bought this!
