Mini Original Guava Leaf Smudge Bundle
Burning guava leaves was born from Lyn Pacificar’s family tradition — a practice she learned through her grandparents and began teaching to her family and community as a way of reconnecting with Filipino traditional folk healing for more than a decade.
When Herbalaria first created guava leaf smudge bundles in 2018, the intention was never simply to replace another plant. It was to remember our own.
Guava became a way of bringing Filipino plant knowledge into ritual spaces while honoring a botanical relationship.
Today, each bundle is handmade by Herbalaria’s Botanical Alchemy Engineer, Soraya, using the family’s special formula.
Directions: Using a lighter or lit candle, light the Guava Leaf Smudge Bundle at the tip. Hold it over the flame for 5 seconds or until the flame builds up. Allow the smoke to move through your space as you energetically release what no longer belongs there and make room for what you wish to welcome. When finished, place the Guava Leaf Smudge Bundle on a microwave safe plate or burning pot.
Diwata Adornments Guava Amulet Necklace
The pièce de résistance of the Bayabas ritual is an amulet created to extend your relationship with the guava tree beyond your home and skincare practice.
Handcrafted and blessed by Katuuran Lyn Pacificar, this multi-step process of harvesting, drying, then meticulously painting and sealing Mama Guava’s fruits is a ritual in and of itself. It is a testament to her decades long relationship between her and the tree. The guava amulets in each of The Bayabas Collection boxes are unique, unreplicatable, one-of-a-kind art pieces.
How to Start Your Ritual
The Bayabas Collection invites you to slow down and enter into a relationship—with your body, your spirit, your environment, and the plants that have cared for generations before us.
Step 1 — Nourish the Skin
Bayabas Healing Hydration Serum + Bayabas Face Cream
Apply the Bayabas Healing Hydration Serum to nourish the skin with hydration, then follow with the Bayabas Face Cream to seal in moisture and create a soft, supple protective layer.
Step 2 — Nourish from Within
Bayabas Tea Blend
Prepare a warm cup of Bayabas Tea Blend. Before sipping, pause and allow the aromatic steam to gently warm your face, taking in the medicinal scent of guava and lemongrass.
When ready, take slow, mindful sips. Between sips, place the warm cup over your abdomen, allowing the warmth to settle into your center. Enjoy as a comforting ritual after a meal, during your menstrual cycle, or whenever you feel called to slow down and reconnect.
Step 3 — Cleanse Your Space
Original Bayabas Guava Leaf Smudge Bundle
When lighting your Original Bayabas Guava Leaf Smudge Bundle, move the smoke intentionally through your space, allowing it to become a ritual of release and renewal. In our tradition, guava leaf smoke is used to help cleanse lower-vibrational energies and clear what feels heavy or stagnant, while inviting white light, love, joy, and healing energy into the space.
Step 4 — Protect Your Spirit
Diwata Adornments Guava Amulet Necklace
Crafted and ritually blessed by Katuuran Lyn Pacificar, the Guava Amulet is an extension of Mama Guava’s presence, created to accompany you beyond the ritual and into the world. Wear it as a reminder to stay grounded, especially when life feels overwhelming, uncertain, or energetically demanding.
The Legacy of Mama Guava
The Bayabas Collection Ritual Kit is deeply connected to Herbalaria’s more than a decade-long commitment to Filipino traditional plant knowledge and to one very special tree: Mama Guava.
Since Herbalaria’s founding in East Hollywood in 2016, Katuuran Lyn has worked to create spaces where Filipino botanical traditions can be remembered, practiced, taught, and shared with new generations. Through Herbalaria, she has woven together traditional Filipino folk healing, plant knowledge, ritual, artistry, and contemporary self-care as a way of honoring the wisdom carried by her ancestors.
But Lyn’s connection to guava began long before Herbalaria.
What began with a young girl learning from a plant grew into a lifelong companionship who has accompanied her through many chapters of her life.
Over the years, guava has revealed itself in many forms: as medicine, food, beauty, ritual, protection, memory, and kinship. Its leaves became a way of connecting with Filipino traditional healing. Its presence became a reminder that plants are not simply resources for us to use, but living beings with whom we can cultivate respect, reciprocity, and care.
This is why Lyn calls her Mama Guava.
She is a botanical being who is a teacher, protector, and living connection to the ancestral knowledge that inspired Herbalaria’s work. Through her, Lyn continues to explore what it means to remember the knowledge of our ancestors—not as something confined to the past, but as something that can continue to grow, evolve, and guide us in the present.
The Bayabas Collection is the blueprint from that lifelong bond.
When you bring the Bayabas Collection into your home, you become part of Mama Guava’s continuing story of helping to connect you with your own roots, discover histories that your family hasn’t previously told you before, and start filling out the blanks of your ancestral tree. This collection is a journey to self.
